Wandered slightly away from a service station to stretch my legs the other day and found blackberries and crab-apples in abundance. Lucky I carry a few plastic bags in my handbag for such moments.

:j YAY!!! :j We moved house last December inheriting an apple tree and a plum tree. Five demi-johns left in the greehnhouse. Hubby has found 4-more at the back of a cupboard in his (old) house he's doing up to sell. We're coming to the picking season and appart from the other bits of equiment we're needing (off ebay through top-cash back), we can have some hopefully ok cheap home made wine!!!!!

I once moved into a rented ground floor flat with a fully established asparagus bed in the garden in addition to pears, apples and plums in abundance, even a peach tree. Best rental ever!~*~ If you don't need it, it isn't a bargain ~*~0 -
We've got a gallon of blackberry wine 'on the go', got a carrier bag of plums from our neighbour's tree to make jam, and we're looking at the elderberries shortly to make some more wine
The hawthorn berries are huge this year so I'll have to find some sort of recipe to try out with them, we've never eaten hawthorns before......
Crab apples up along High Lane Burslem, just before the football pitch on the right hand side, going towards Chell roundabout. I don't know what to do with them, I've got a sweet tooth so may not like them......I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Old style MoneySaving boards.

On my way to work last week I walked past a hedge (round someone's front garden) absolutely bursting with what looked like blueberries. But people don't grow blueberries in their front hedges, do they? Any idea what they might be? I'm a country girl but never seen this before0

If you don't know of fruit near you, try asking on Freecycle - I am going to pick some damsons tomorrow from a tree in someone's garden, and have had offers of apples too, plus hints about locations of blackberries and sloes.Trust me - I'm NOT a doctor!0
