Liquid or pencil eyeliner

Liquid for a more intensive stayable look, pencil for a more smudgy softer look.
Gel eh?! never knew about that, is this freely available out there any recommendations pls
I am really having probs putting pencil or anything to line the bottom of my eyes- they really water up badly, getting the pencil wet & then can't do the other eye
, any tips anyone?!
Thanks! No one said it was gonna be easy!0 -
Either/or. Pencil drags more(even if warmed up) and more difficult to get decent line. Liquid easier to get the line but takes a while to dry so end up with a double line!!0

I find liquid easiest. Bourjois long lasting liquid eyeliner is fab and quite cheap but doesn't smear, smudge or budge! If you always do what you have always done, you will always get what you always got!0

I buy a cheap black powder eyeshadow-ie Rimmell and wet it-at first you have to do it a lot as the water just soaks in/ or "floats" on the top when its new, so persevere. Once you have a "puddle" use a thin brush (I use a small one from a set of really cheap make up brushes), and apply. I find it much easier than using a liquid eyeliner (despite it still being liquid its easier somehow-less gloopy), and also you can control how dark/light you want it to look. Its also easier to smudge/blend than liquid liner which can look really harsh.
I suppose its the same principle as block mascara. It also lasts for ever.0 -
Pencil! I have a liquid eyeliner but can't get to grips with it. Last time I tried to apply it it smudged horribly and I looked like I'd been punched in both eyes ...:www: Saving for a deposit - Target £30k by 24/03/14 (30th Birthday!) :www:

Pencil...I prefer a softer smoky look. Never tried liquid, I've heard its hard to remove???
And totally off the subject, a post reminded me...if you dampen your brush before applying eyeshadow it gives for a more dramatic look.0 -
If you are getting older and liquid is too harsh and pencil runs into wrinkles under your eyes try ELF liquid eyeshadow, I use the darkest brown as I am blonde, either go smudgy using the very edge of the applicator, after scraping most of the shadow back into the tube, or use a fine brush and then soften it with a wet brush. You will all cringe but I lick the brush after first applying it and then go over with a bit of a wiggly motion. Works for me. I find the Bobbi Brown eyeliner brush, which has a bit of a curve, easiest to use if you are not to good at even lines.0
