Any offers on washing liquid for clothes?

I only use washing liquid for my clothes as I found powder/tablets can leave a slight residue and irritate my skin and liquitabs are a waste for me as I don't always do a full load.

I don't seen any decent offers recently.

Don't mind where its from - I don't have a membership to Macro or Costco etc.

  • I have heard Lidl is good for washing stuff. I use the powder tabs but I only use 1 for a full wash, if I was ever to do a half wash I would use a half. Don't forget if you use liquid all the time you need to do a very hot wash once in a while to clear it out.

Have a look at tescos. I'm pretty certain when i was in today that there was persil? liquid at half price. I was rushing though so not 100% sure on the brand but there was definitely some type on offer. x

I have dry excema and also mainly use liquid. Downshifting ( as you do) I tried the purple "Eazy" liquid that is sold for £1 in Iceland and its great, no irritations and all stains gone, I put a bit in a ball dispenser in the drum.

I have made my own gloop which is also pretty good but you need to be reasonably organised and I keep forgetting to buy soda crystals :wall:

Do you use the little fabric bags they give you when you use powder tabs? I find that I get residue when I don't use the tabs (even with calgon) but don't get any residue when I do use them. Its very noticable for me as I mainly just wear black.
  • We recently bought a new washing machine from Comet, a Hoptpoint Ultima thingy me jig cost a fortune but had a fortune off so the wife persuaded me it was a great deal..............................

Anyhow, the guy that sold it to use pointed out in the manual that Hotpoint reccomended only using liquid detergant, being male and the cost of the dam thing I questioned this only to be told told that nearly all "major" machine manufacturers now only reccomend using liquid detergants, and only guarantee advertised cleaning results with the use of liquid detergants, something to do with them not havinf a hot intake feed anymore so the powder clogs the pipes and never really gets a chande to dissolve properly.....................................

Far to technical for me ask me anythig to do with laptops, computers and the technical side of the internet and I will bore you for hours but washing machines.......................... striaght over my head ;)

    Anyhow offers sadly no :(

I think I did see Ariel liquid in Tesco yesterday a huge bottle of it should have been £10 they had it on offer for £6 and also Bold Gel which I am reliably told by the wife gel is the way to go was on offer at £3.

Nothing at Morrison just been there this morning but only looked at gel didnt notice liquid, oh actually Daz liquid in the little bag thingies you put in the machine liquitabs is it? they were on offer for £2 for 10 or 12 something like that.

    Hope that helps

  • Waitrose does a really good own brand liquid detergent which is now on sale for £1.39 for 735ml. This lasts for up to 21 washes as it is in concentrate form. Normal price is £2.19 which is still good value. You can choose either non bio/bio or colour care. HTH
  • Theres a Tesco Value liquid detergent that my parents use, was told about it by moneythrifty mum it when i visited the other day. Seeing as my sister has sensitive skin and flares up to most brands of detergents, be it powder or liquid, these don't irritate her skin.
I seem to remember being told they were either 98p or £1.98 for a bottle with 20 (give or take) washes in it.
