Upset and in debt

Hi Guys

It's my first post on here hope I am doing in right??!!

Anyway this is my position right now. I have approx £8000 of debt but not sure who I owe and how much as I have hidden from it for a while now.

Starting to feel so very nervous about this and to make matters worse I have been on sick since the end of e mail and as of November my sick pay ends which means even less money!

Would really appreciate any advice going. I have been thnking of taking out a loan with capital or yes loans but just at my wits end now.

Any help chaps?

  • Before you think any more about taking out a loan, please post your statement of affairs on here so that we can have a look and make suggestions. There's a sticky on the top of the board to help you out with this.

  • I'm quite new to this, so will leave it to the experts to offer advice - but I can say that you've come to the right place..and well done for making the first DFW step!
  • Hi there and well done for posting. Acknowledgeing you are on a financial spiral is the first step to recovery. As minniespender said, before you think about any loans, write down your SOA. Find out exactly what you owe, and let everyone on here take a look and make suggestions on where you can cut back. You may not need that loan at all!

hiya :D dont get the loan for now, let us try and help you first!! grab a cuppa and pull all your debt letters out of the hidey places that you have tried to forget ;) also phone creditors up and get the balances you owe etc then write them all down in a list... who it is/the amount you owe and the apr`s. its gonna be depressing all debt is! but at least you know what you are dealing with then we can tackle it head on, get all this info together and then let us know your soa (statement of affairs basically your incomings and outgoings) and we will all have a darn good try to sort you out. well done for making the first step to sort it out, get all the info on here asap and we`ll see what we can do as most of us are all going/been through it ourselves. a couple of hundred eyes looking over your soa will put you on the right track :j

Welcome to the site, you have made your first step to getting yourself free of debt by joining this forum.
As mentioned above try and post a SOA (Statement of affairs) so that others on here can help. Try and post the amounts you owe and what APR's etc.

Getting a loan isnt always the best option but after you have posted your SOA we might be able to help you :)

  • Opening the cupboard and seeing the skeleton is both the worst - and the best part. The worst - becaause it is really scary when you confront your actual debt for the first time, and the best because the same moment marks the beginning of getting better - you are actually taking the reins and grabbing control for the first time - and that is the beginning of moving forward and making things better. The cupboard will never be as scary again.

Hi Miss Jones. Just wanted to say Hi. Its a bit daunting putting everything together on paper at first but you will survive:D
  • Hi and welcome. You're in the right place but to get the best help and advice, we all need to see your SOA, Statement of Affairs. Good luck.
  • you'll feel much better when it's all written down - you might not think it but not knowing is much worse!
