pmsl its a bloody fly that was in the food and my bab nearly ate his guts and things, and really its not funny and i have to see what they say when they phone up monday, and there wont be solicitors i just wont buy anymore jar food lol0

that will be the last time ever i will buy any jar foods again
Having brought up 3 kids that never tasted baby food, just the stuff their parent ate (mushed up), I can say that's the best thing you can do.
But on the other hand, it's just your mind that's telling you the fly is bad. We eat flies and spiders every day, but because we don't notice, we don't care. Eating flies won't hurt you, it's just the thought of it that makes you feel sick. In fact, I'm pretty sure they use crushed beetles as food colouring, so you probably eat creepy crawlies more often than you think.
Patrick Moore famously swallowed one on live TV, he was talking and a huge fly flew into his mouth, so he just swallowed it and carried on talking. His mother was obviously from the same mould as my mother, because when he complained that it had been a bad experience she just told him that it was worse for the fly.0 -
i think that is the problem that i seen it in the jar, if he had have just eaten it i wouldnt be non the wiser, but the fact is that the fly was in a jar from a well known brand, i think thats what has made me mad, but yes geordie joe i can see wht you are saying, i had tried my son on home cooking but he didnt like it, but he loved the jar food but he will just have to get used to my cooking lol0

Make a song and dance about this, Cow and Gate is a premium brand and this is not acceptable as said above write to them with the offending fly attached, if you look on the pack there will be a customer service phone number might be worth giving them a call as well.
Not a great thing to find in any food but in baby food no no no that should not be happening.................
Drama queen much?
You better not let you children play in the yard, they might eat spiders, woodlice, snails and all sorts just like every kid does :rotfl:
Never mind i'm sure that cotton wool you have wrapped them in will protect them from the nasty bugs.0 -

Reminds me of when my brother was about 3 (a LONG time ago!). My other brother and I found him at the bottom of the garden sucking a slug and thought it was so funny that mum came out to see what the fuss was and took it off him, must have tasted good cos he screamed the house down!!What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -
my older 2 boys have had alsorts in their mouth thats not what the problem is here, its the fact that the fly was in a jar of babys food, when he starts crawling then yes he will put things in his mouth thats natural, but like i said you should not find them in a jar of babys food0
