I just thought it may be interesting to see what everyone has in their keyboard! Revolting though it may be, I have spaghetti bolognese in mine.

Mine was so bad, I had to replace it a month ago ! Now my new one is lovely and clean and stays that way as I cover it up whenever it's not in use

I dishwashed a whole classroom full of keyboards last year and they all came out lovely and clean. If you want a clean keyboard just pop it keys down in the top of the dishwasher and run through one of the cooler cycles. Afterwards leave it keys down to dry out for a couple of weeks and then it will be as good as new! Seriously - I thought it was a wind up when I first heard about it but I googled it and gave it a shot. Of course you need a spare keyboard to use whilst yours is drying.
Can't do it with the cordless ones though as they take batteries. The best things in life are NOT free - but they sure are cheaper with MSE!:j0 -
When I worked as an IT Technician in a large office the first thing I did when people complained their keyboards weren't working was turn them upside down and shake vigourosly (the keyboards, not the people - though I would have liked to do that to some of them!)
Paper clips and coffee (they always denied spilling it!) were the most common problems but I also found earings, pencil shavings and even nail clippings (yuk!)0
