Hello
i have posted on the creditcard forum. They advised me to post my details here. I may be out of a job within the next few days. Will know for sure by tuesday. I am thinking of phoning/writing to creditcard companies informing them of this in the hope they will freeze or lower payments but ofcourse i dont want defaults or get blacklisted.
MONTHLY IMCOMINGS:
Wages........................................... 750.00
MONTHLY OUTGOINGS:
Creditcards and loan:
Monument 2000...........................50.00 (interest free until May 2007)
Virgin 2500.................................50.00 (interest free until Feb 2007)
Egg 2084 (16.9%)....................... 35.00
Egg Loan 7129...........................137.00
Orange Contract ........................30.00 (contract ends June 2007)
NTL phone ..................................7.00 (contract ends Feb 2007)
NTL Broadband............................10.00
Petrol ........................................90.00
Foods (work and uni).................... 80.00
Takeaways..................................40.00
Cinema.......................................10.00
02 payg 300txts...........................10.00
Total ......................................... 549.00
Its sobering and shocking listing all the outgoings. I have the advantage of living with parents but cannot ask them for money. I know for sure i can save on food and work on lowering my mobile phone bill. My sister is willing to takeover the NTL broadband. But if im out of a job then i dont know what i will do. I work part-time until Feb after my exams. Any help advice will be so much appreciated.

Hi there Mr Ice and welcome
There wil be lots of others here soon to help, but my two pe'nethfor what it is worth.....
I would add car tax and insurance to the list of outgoings. Also, any money you spend on going out, takeaways, haircuts etc.
If you fear you will be out of work, register with all thelocal temping agencies to keep you going, with whatever work they can offer you.
might be worth calling Orange to ask if there is a cheaper tariff.
Do you pay any rent?0 -
If I were you, I would actually wait and see if you are definitely going to be out of work BEFORE you write to your creditors. You may be lucky enough to find a new job straight away.
Sometimes Credit Card companies do not always react in the way you would expect when you are being 'up front' with them. I did same with Capial One and they replied by virtually doubling my APR - not really helpfull as I was looking for a way to REDUCE my monthly payments - not INCREASE them.
Let us all know what happens on Tuesday - in the meantime start checking out availability of other jobs.I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.

see thats the very thing im afraid of. I guess i shouldnt expect them to have a duty to be a little more sympathetic but if i get into a situation where i simply cant pay any bills then i wont have a choice.
What then for example i contact NTL or Orange about this. Do they have a habit of helping people?0 -

Have had no experience of NTL. Orange - short answer is, probably, no, although you might try talking to their customer service and say that you do not feel that you are on the best tarrif.I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser.
