Credit card interest

Paid my monthly balance as usual but didn't take into account of the weekend and my payment went through a day late! My mistake when checking the calendar!
Hoping the interest will be credited back when i have a chat with them tomorrow! First time in over 4years i've made that mistake...muppetry eh!

why not set up a DD for the full amount ..then you wont need to worry0

DDs are useless if you're paid 4 weekly like me. Just means more charges when they bounce.Debt as at 12th July 2006 - £61,345
Debt free 21st Oct 2011.
All thanks to :money:0 -
I pay on-line after i receive my statement; just left it that bit too late when i authorised payment!:o
With a bit of luck and the obvious last resort of taking my custom elsewhere, they may credit me back the interest!
I suppose DD is an option but i prefer to have control of when i pay and how much, as there may come a time when i may over spend and have to carry the balance over!Easy come Easy go :cool:0 -
Hi nestle-elvis - I've done the same thing in the past, so know how you feel.:o What I did was set up a direct debit for the minimum amount only...then, if I had any extra money to throw at the debt, I paid that off in a separate transaction.;)
Clapton: thats a really good idea, but I think that most people on this board probably are trying to clear large credit card bills built up over time and can't afford to clear the whole lot in one go.Obviously, once they get debt-free and begin living within control of their finances again on a month to month basis, this suggestion is a great idea!:D

Sorry, have just re-read original thread and realised that I have made a mistake
, and that OP is referring to interest charged for late payment. If you have a good record with the cc in the past, I'm sure that they will refund it with no problems...;)
