Ccj/Mortgage/Credit ratings

Hope there is someone who can help/advise me (although maybe I need to be on some kind of legal site!!).

I have been trying to get a 100% mortgage (which I can afford) but have been told I can only have 90% due to a CCJ from 2000 (settled in 2001).

I accept that the CCJ is due to my non-payment/irregular payment history (how noble!). What really troubles me is that I was only notified after the case had been gone to court and the judgement made. When I queried this with the party who took me to court I was told that they had not known my where abouts to notify me. (Although they were able to notify me a couple of months after this).

I don't want to sound like I'm trying to escape consequences - but is this correct proceedure?? Is there anything I can do about it??

I'm really kicking myself that an unpaid debt of approx £90.00 is still effecting my consumer status.

Please help!!
