How much have you spend today Sun 24/9, weekly challenge update & new challenge!

Good afternoon fellow DFWs :hello:

Beautiful day down here and I think I’ve been up for 4 hours now  Been doing all sorts of housework and discovering lots of little bits that can go on ebay :j I thought I had run out after adopting the minimalist look around :p here when I first became a DFW but it’s amazing what a little bit of digging can unearth! Tops, jewellery, cds, books and even an unused pair of straighteners! Hope to get a few more pounds to throw at the debts ;)

Beginning of a new week and a new Sunday to Friday Challenge. We had 15 challengers last week and I know how some of us did but not sure about the others. Perhaps we can all post how we did and also, target for new week. Here’s the list (bet you didn’t think you’d be put in the limelight like this eh :D :rotfl: )
  1. DFW Target
  2. Moozie £20 Finished at £17.50 & that included Friday night which I don't usually add in :)
  3. Batfink £20
  4. us,thecat&thedebt £20
  5. Postingalwaysposting £11
  6. debbycatz £17
  7. cheletastic £20
  8. minnispender £20
  9. Gemmzie £5
  10. lynsayjane keeping it low
  11. Mrs(no)money £20
  12. CAFCgirl £10
  13. MartialArtMan £10
  14. Jesscat £30
  15. sazzler £7
  16. serialdieter £17.06

I remember Liney couldn't join in last week so hope you can come in this week hun. Same goes to everyone else that is reading of course ;)

I find the challenge really helps me stay on track, hope you find it the same. I will aim for £20 again and, fingers crossed, I do as well as last week!

Have a good Sunday and keep it low.

Moozie x

PS Just for my OH, yes I did serve you the bacon that fell on the floor this morning, sorry :o
PPS For everyone else, it's easier to admit and apologise on here :rotfl:

  • well it seems since last sunday i had only four no spend days :j (sunday, wednesday, thursday and yesterday!). on the three days i spent money i spent a total of £11.90. this includes my food shopping. i'm pleased with that. i've budgeted myself ten pounds a week for the next four weeks with an extra ten for 'emergencies'. thats not inclding my bday night out which has been budgeted seperatly (i've allowed £60 for this...more than food??? my priorities are weird!).

anyway today should be a no spne day. i was going to do my weeks shopping, but it's chucking down outside and i think it's beyond me, but i'll need to look and see what i've got for lunch/supper tomorrow at work first.

anyway good luck with the next week folks. x
  • Hi Moozie and thanks for keeping us in check!

I spent £18 up to Thursday and then it was payday. I paid a load of bills and paid off my credit card so the spend went up dramatically! I haven't done a weekly shop this weekend - instead I'm going to have a kitchen blitz this afternoon and do a storecupboard challenge.

My spend challenge this week is £30 to Friday (I have to include photos for my student union card, dance school subs and a class so it's higher than I wanted). Hopefully I won't go anywhere near this, but that's all that's coming out of the cashpoint! And the cashcard will live at home after the money's been taken out.

    Good luck all!

    Having a no spender today.

Well its about time I owned up!

I failed miserably at my target of £10!

So starting again for this week! And this time I will do it!
    Sunday to Friday £10
    Already spent £4 grrrrrrr
So technically Sunday to Friday- £6

May need all the help I can get on that one peeps :)

Also have mini challenge with PeachPickle regarding the montly occurence known as the Payday Blowout, so we've challenged each other, to no more than £10 spent on payday, just coz we've got the money doesnt mean we have to spend it!

Yikes - I know you're right on that one (see above!). But I find that I do a big restock on paydays (because I know I can) and that usually sees me through the month. Although I have to say starting a spending diary this week massively curtailed my usual restock! :rotfl:

I have a habit of simply buying things because I know I can!

I'm still struggling getting this budgetting thing down right, I've had 6 months to learn, you'd have thought I'd have it by now!

I've been shocked by my spending diary, worked out that this month (and its not even over!) I've spent £105 in supermarkets, I'm only little, what rubbish have I been putting in my body!?

Good luck for the week coming though everyone!

  • Today I spent £9 at Mr T's very busy supermarket but as it was part of the 'weekly shop' budget it doesn't really count.
As for the challenge, i'm setting aside £10 which I will try NOT to spend.
    Good luck everyone.
