Sainsburys Weekly Customer Specific Vouchers

So every 2-3 months, I got used to getting the Sainsbury vouchers of approx £4 off £20, occurring every week for a month.

This was a nice 20% discount that I obviously used and liked but when I didn't have them my loyalty was usually with Tesco due to their clubcard deals.

It seems however either Sainsburys are weening me off that nicer discount and/or have hit harder times.

I just received 4x £4.50 off £30 vouchers for September, that's 15% off...

Anyways if anyone knows how Sainsburys functions in this and could let me know how to get the 20% ones back I'm all ears!

  • Did you know you can use the sainsbury's vouchers at Tesco too? I know this is not what you asked but that is where I use mine and they keep sending me £12 off a £60 shop! Literally just finished one load and the next for September has arrived.

Any useful and applicable information like that is always good to know, thank you.

Oh my Parents received a £12 off £60 shop at a Tesco that's miles away, any Tesco experts know if I can use this at any store?

Stop moaning, you're lucky you get them at all. The tight fisted, grasping little Fagins never send me any.....

I got 4 of these £4 off a £20 shop from Sainsbury in the post today.

I had a load (6?) of £4 off £20 sainsbury vouchers, used most of them in Tesco, but two in Sainsburys. Today got 4 x £3 off £20 vouchers. So I think it's less because I shopped there, because I don't for months on end as it's often expensive on the kind of things I buy. Tesco gave me a £7 off £50 till spit but I'm running out of space to stock pile cat food and toilet rolls!
  • Not moaning, just trying to understand how it works, what I can do with them etc.
Also Tesco Double Points ends on Sunday.

Not sure how the postal versions work but I am almost certain now (in my experience anyway) that the printed coupons are dependant on the store- some stores give more then others, maybe its to do with allowances or stores trying to promote themselves but I visit 4 different stores. Only one of them regularly gives me any printed coupons, the other gives coupons which can only be spent in that particular store and the other two, I think I have only ever had one coupon between them.

Shopping cost is around the same mark per each store and I shop at the same time of the day. I change where I shop every week or month depending on what I am doing and shop daily yet I get such differences with each store. Three stores are of similar size, one is a superstore. (The largest superstore gives fewer vouchers then the normal sized supermarkets)

I think that, in my case, I hadn't used Sainsburys or their Nectar card for months so these vouchers are a come-on to entice me back.

  • I don't know where they got this from.

The voucher printing machines - called Catalina which are next to the receipt printers print out vouchers either for money off certain items/a group of items (fruit n veg)/whole shop and extra Nectar card points.

My average transaction per week at Sainsburys has gone DOWN, but these vouchers go from triple bonus points for £40 to £50! Why can't I get the £20 ones?

I work for Sainsburys and they don't know why either.

My colleagues get these coupons as well - I don't! So they get double discount!

If they're trying to entice me back, these vouchers will probably work..I've been using Tesco, Morrisons more.
