Thanks Everyone :)

After my morbidly miserable post the other day I was over whelmed with the response ... there was a lot of love in the room that day!!! :D

anyway, as people will be able to see from my sig ( if I have done it right that is) ... I have now joined both quidco and pigs back ...
still not sure if I have got the hang of the Quidco but am getting there ... as for the pigsback, am aiming for the biggy..... the unlimited blockbuster DVD hire for 12 months, then am planning on copying all the DVDs we borrow for free and selling pirate copies on bay / carboots ... obviously will need to visit OS thread to pick up tips on best way to have an effective car boot and then the Ebay thread for the best way to be able to sell pirates on ebay without having auction removed ..... actually not sure if you are allowed to sell pirates on ebay , do they have a 'nautical' or' mischievious sea going person' section .......

I have also decided to set up a secret stash money account, that is on line so OH wont know about it ( nothing to hide but he does always manage to find a crisis to spend any savings I ever have on) ...
and I have a birthday cheque of £20 that I have clung onto from September and I am going to let that be my starting point.

I one nice tiny surprise when I was sorting out my paperwork last night. Our mortgage has finally for the first time ever, gone below the amount we actually borrowed!!!!!!! :j its only by a few quid but after 3 years of paying almost 800 squid, its about flipping time.

will keep everyone updated. I am feeling very inspired about getting the ball rolling again . Infact I think I will do what I have seen a few others do and start a diary, infact yes i think I will, but will do a blog.
Sorted!

  • Look my quidco has gone up again... so thanks to everyone yesterday, I am already £7.00 better off effectively than I was yesterday.
Just goes to show what positive thinking can achieve, and I mean everyone elses not mine until today!!

:T well done hun :T you are getting there, but i am a bit worried about this bit. This is illegal if you get caught you could have a fine/imprisonment and then the reason you are doing it could double/triple... is it worth the risk

I agree, don't sell pirate DVDs. Ebay will just remove them and you will get caught at a car boot sale. They have trading standards officers that go around those places and pick out people selling dodgy stuff.

I work for the Probation Service and deal with the Crown Court stuff. We had a guy once who got caught selling pirate DVDs out of the back of a van at a carboot and he got 12 months custody!

    It's not worth the risk.

Keep going with all the positivity but just try and think of some other ways to raise some extra cash :T :T
  • For extra income have you tried Valued Opinions surveys they someone said they got about £300 a year doing these (it prompted me to sign up PDQ). They pay in Tesco vouchers (or others of your choice) so its a neat way of saving for Christmas. :D
    I have plenty of willpower - it's won't power I need.

sorry but thats not something you joke about...

i disagree, I think that you can be sarcastic about anything in this life, we live in a country of free speech, and if the particular post had been read thorughly i feel it is quite obvious that it is sarcasm. Sorry if you took it the wrong way. However I did not commit a criminal act, nor do I intend to. Quite frankly if I wanted to, the line of work I am in, it would be easy enough and I would either be sat in jail or living in a mansion.
So again, apologies if it has caused offence, obviously you arent on my wavlength in regard to sarcasm, but then it would be a boring world if we were all the same wave length and if we were all so serious about certain things. Maybe I am a bit more hardened to it all.
    sorry.
Oh and I didnt get that bit about the 'getting the high'... sorry what was that all about?

Hmm - I thought you were being serious too and agree that there are some things you don't joke about like breaking the law and believe me after what I have been through in my life, I can take a joke about most things (if I didn't laugh sometimes then I would cry).

We were only trying to help and stop you doing something silly.

    Enough said me thinks :D

Good luck with becoming debt free.

sorry......... i thought that the reference to nautical and sea going mischievious persons would have been enough ....

memo to self: to tone down sarcasm in future threads so I dont go pi$$ing anyone off.

still dont think there is anything wrong with joking about doing anything ( except for terrorism of course, that would just be stupid to even mention stuff connected with it) ..... and the majority of people that work in this sector in my experience tend to have a slightly warped, hardened sense of humour to it all.

and yes I know the consequences of doing illegal stuff, myself from working in this sector, although in Lincolnshire, you can pretty much get away with doing what you like unless you are unfortunate enough to be Eastern European - but that is a whole other story!
