No action by CSA

The CSA started my case at the end of September 2008, in these 2 years they appear to have done nothing! My ex has done everything he can to avoid paying - ignoring letters, not giving them the information they wanted etc. I am now getting really frustrated as every time I ring the CSA I'm told its still being worked out. In the meantime he is busy spending his wages on designer clothes, alcohol and games consoles!!! He works self-employed, so I understand that complicates things, and the CSA has said I will get the arrears when they have assessed what he owes and what he is to pay each week, but I still don't understand how this is taking so long. I am only on benefits, our daughter is now 3 years old, and I have another 4 year old too (not his). Any suggestions what I can do to resolve this? By the way my ex was violent too, so he has no contact with us.

Judging on some other posts, all you can do is be patient, yeah they can throw in sanctions, lifestyle incosnistent with income, baliffs, court orders blah blah blah, some have to wait until the child is no longer qualifying before they get any support.
