Credit Search Quotation?? help please

hi,

i applied for a mortgage through a broker and have gone through Leeds building society. on the 13th august i had an agreement in principal from the Leeds and they credit checked me that day. i had to pay them £199 for the full application which i did this saturday just gone (25/08). i've just checked me credit file again and can see on the 25th there is a Credit Search Quotation from the Leeds. is this normal??
and does anyone know why they would do this after they have already done a full search? i know an agreement in principal doesnt mean i'll get the mortgage it just seems strange to me for them to do a full search then a Credit Search Quotation.

Its not a Credit Search Quotation, its a Quotation Search. This is a soft footprint credit search which is not visible to other credit providers (and as such does not impact on your credit score). It is done at initial agreement in principle stage by some lenders, and is later upgraded to a full (visible) application search. Many lenders do not bother with this and go to a full hard footprint application search even when you are just getting an agreement in principle, which is where you can have problems if you go for agreements in principles to multiple different lenders.
