car finance
hi. i hope some-one can advise. a few months after buying a car on finance my friends husband contacted the car firm to let them know he had lost his job, could not afford the car and wanted them to collect it from his mother-in-laws drive. august 2009 it still had not been collected by the firm even after numerous phone calls. in feb 2010 they again were contacted and said as he owed some money through canceling then the finance company were taking it over. again at the beginning of this week the car firm were phoned to collect the car and they said they would pass it to the finance company.
it has still not been collected and there has been no contact from the finance company through all of this. can he get rid of the car himself. or what can he do as his mother-in-law has had to park her car on the road all this time.
