co-op bank group, help please

Hi,

I am hoping to go for an IVA but want to get things such as a bank account into place first. From reading the forum I know now that if you bank with a bank that you owe money to that it is best to move your account as they can help themselves to your money, I take it this is the same if you have borrowed from one of there group, I am in the process of opening a bank account with Ulster Bank only to realise they are owned by The Royal Bank of Scotland which I have debt with so I'm sure thats a no no!

So what I want to know who is the Co-op with? I want to open a cashminder account but don't want any of my debtors withdrawing my money, I owe a good bit to different companys I will list them if that helps. RBS, Black Horse, Santander, MBNA, Sygma, Creation, Clydesdale. Thanks is advance for any help :)

  • The Co-op Bank is a Bank in its own right so no connection to those you mentioned - however Unity Trust Bank, Britannia Building Society and smile are part of the Co-op Bank
