Cahoot to Santander

I'm having a nightmare with my cahoot loan which has been taken over by santander. Basically since the switch they have been taking my direct debits as normal. However, they told me last month that I was 4 months in arrears.
I stated that I had made the payments. It turns out that their IT systems have failed and they have not registered the payments. They said that they wont remove the arrears until IT have fixed the issue. However, IT have been dealing with these issues since March.
I've complained about this but nothing is happening. What concerns me most is that my credit profile has now been updated to show that i've missed 4 payments. Again they have said they will contact the agency to correct this once the issue has been fixed.
This is putting my life on hold, ripping up my credit rating and causing me no end of stress. What can I do
