I was overcharged for some baby stuff at toys r us...as in there was a big poster advertising an offer and the offer never came off at the till. I went to CS and spent the next hour or so listening to them going on at each other over how the poster was wrong, out of date, should have been taken down blah blah blah, til finally someone with a brain cell pointed out that none of that was the customers fault and they could sort it once I had been refunded. It was only a small amount as well, really not worth the suffering!
  • well back home, none at meadowhall toys r us at all, only 2 core ones. ended up trailing around meadowhall, and eventually got one from HMV. Premium system, extra controller, pgr3 and table tennis, for £299.95. not as good as the Toys r us deal, but better than the Game deal (premium, extra controller, pgr3 for £299.95 plus any game for £20 extra)

I have one happy husband, but have a feeling I'm not going to see him much now!! :rotfl: :rotfl:

    how?

did you phone your local store and ask?

i get a bunch of untrained monkeys who don't know what there doing at my local one

Yep, phoned my local store and just asked. However they didnt have DOA4 in stock, but gave me a choice of others and I chose Perfect Dark Zero....

HOWEVER, they naffed up. The guy I spoke to on the phone was actually very helpful, and I also met him at the store. However the manager/stock guy got it wrong, and when they thought they have Premiums in stock, they only had Core's.

Sooooooooo, I waited for ages, but they ended up doing this:

    - Giving me the 4 games and extra controller
    - Loaning me a 'returned' XBox Premium (the decent guy wiped the hard drive for me) until they get the Premiums in stock.
    - Adding a free accessory pack for me (worth £30) because of the inconvenience.
    - Taking down my name and contact number so that they can phone when they come back into stock (hopefully next week). I trust the guy who I dealt with over the phone to do this, but I'll phone the store next week anyway. He was in fact very helpeful.

I have a receipt and a brown returns slip, I just have to take that back in to swap this loaned console for a brand new package.

It's a bit inconveniant, but at least they let me still get the bundle (damn straight!), and also added in another freebie.

    So I got (will get):

    - XBox Premium Pack (1 Wireless Controller)
    - Extra Wireless Controller
    - PGR 3
    - Perfect Dark Zero
    - Final Fantasy XI Online
    - King Kong
    - Accessory Pack

All for £299, so not really too bad :)

I just hope they get stock quickly, as they agreed that demand was high.

  • we tried to get something similar last night in meadowhall but they were having none of it. they oinly had the core offer, which is core + 3 games for 249.99 and then the hard drive for 69.99 on top. but, they only had 2 games out of the 3, so it would have meant another journey. we asked for an alternative game, he said no.

we asked when they were gonna be back in stock, he didnt know. There is apparently a delivery today, but they didn't know if any 360's were gonna be on it, he said to check about 4pm. we asked if we could reserve one, he said no. we asked if we could put a deposit on one to guarantee we would be back, he said no!!! it was like getting blood from a stone really. at 7.00pm last night they only had 2 cores and 2 hard drives, and that was it. He wouldnt even hold onto one of them while we went and looked somewhere else.

Luckily we got one in the end though, and bonus!! When we got it home, the guy in HMV had scanned through -

    Xbox 360 Premium
Console bundle pack of extra controller and PGR3 (both in one box)
    Headset
    PGR3
    Table Tennis game

so we ended up with 2 copies of PGR3!!!! we are gonna take it to game tomorrow and trade it in for another game, so theoretically, we got Xbox 360 + 3 games for £299. Splendid!! :D

    Good work!

Yeah the bundle with PGR3 and the controller surprised me really (I wondered if they had made a mistake when he said 'here are your 4 games') but I suppose it makes sense.

Played PGR3 last night and it looked great :)

Update: They now have one in stock, so I'm popping back tomorrow with my 'loaned' XBox 360 and I'm swapping it for my new one, woo!

Hope they havent made the same mistake again!

  • Are there any shops that will price match this offer?

Didn't GAME used to have a price match policy?

I got this deal too at the White Rose Centre in Leeds, today.

Just thought i'd point out that they also gave me a £5 off £30 spend voucher (printed as a receipt) and one of those points reward cards. I thought it would be just like all my others (ie not worth bothering with) but they'd added my £300 spend to it meaning I have 3000 points - worth another £15.

So basically I got this deal for £279.95, as I have the means for a further £20 saving at HMV. :)
