Standing order question

Not really sure where to ask this question so apologies if this is the wrong place!
Someone said that they had set up a standing order from their bank to mine on 1st of the month. Nothing has shown up in my account today (so far). What I was wondering was that if it is leaving their bank on 1st will it reach mine on the same day or take a few days?

Hiya,
If your bank, and theirs, are part of the Faster Payments system, you should have the money tomorrow.
If it's gone via the old BACS system, it will take 3-4 working days to clear, so you'll get it on Monday or Tuesday.

There is a chance it can get there same day but as Jules says , dependant on the banks concerned...
Barclays - - - > Natwest and vice versa happens same day0 -
