Citifinancial
Had loan with them years and years ago, defaulted and made an arrangement to pay.
Can't remember how long I have been paying them, but it's been that long it no longer appears on CF, and tbh, I forgot I was paying them as it comes out an account I rarely use. I have a SO set up to cover the DD every month.
I phoned them this morning, they told me how much I have outstanding, but when I asked how much I originally defaulted on and how long I have been paying the said they didn't have the information.
I also asked why I was not sent a statement of account each year and they said they didn't have to, as I had defaulted, but for £30 the would send me one!!!
Now my questions are:
As the account is in default, are they still obliged to send annual statements?
Rather than pay the £30 statement fee, I would be better doing a SAR request for £10?
Hope this makes sense and thanks for any advice in advance.

Sign up to creditexpert.co.uk the online Experian credit file. You get one month free so dont forget to cancel before the month is up or your card will get charged.
Your credit file will show the date in which citifinancial defaulted the loan and the amount, it will show payment history and the current balance. From that you will be able to work out if they are adding charges or interest.0 -

Eh, thanks for that, but if you read my OP, you would see that it no longer appears on my CF (Credit File).0 -
Sorry didnt spot that bit!!:D
Citifinancial are sharks, been there done that and thankfully got rid of them. If its dropped off your credit file its been 6 years since the date of default. Its not going to effect your credit rating so stop paying and if they write then say you believe you have finished the agreement and unless they provide proof that a debt still exists - ie a computer statement printout then you are not paying another penny. Threaten them that as a financial institution they have to answer any queries relating to a balance in an appropiate and fair manner without charging excessive fees and you would report them to the financial ombudsman.
Good luck0
