The One Show - Bad reporting!

Hey guys! I just thought I would let you all know I have had a reply from the BBC about my complaint regarding the way Dom LIttlewood protrayed and delivered the story about that woman who was BR and the Bank told her how she could spend her money, etc.

This is my reply, its a bit of a kiss off but at least they finally acknowledged it!

Thanks for your email regarding ‘The One Show’ BBC One.

We apologise for the very severe delay in replying which was due to a major fault in our systems.

I understand that you feel that the programme gave out incorrect information on how banks deal with bankruptcy.

The report that Dom Littlewood provided would’ve been based on the events that the woman in the report had faced as you’ve mentioned. It wouldn’t have intended to suggest that it would be the case with all banks. We wouldn’t have intentionally given out information that would’ve been deemed as incorrect. We apologise on this occasion you felt that the information that was provided was inaccurate.

Audience reaction is crucial to the BBC as it helps inform our decisions in the future and we use a number of methods to provide feedback to the programme makers, commissioning executives and senior management of the ‘The One Show’ BBC One. Although the delay was meant a reply wasn’t sent to you when you contacted us, we can assure you this did not affect our logging of the points you raised at the time.

Thanks again for taking the time to contact us.

Kind Regards

Hmmm, so it wouldn't have intended to suggest it would be the case with all banks?? well I am sorry but that is exactly what it did!!

I think it is time that the BBC (or someone) did a proper report about bankruptcy based on fact not hearsay!!

The One Show is rather like Watchdog. Pure entertainment, any information contained within is purely incidental.
