  • I have been with Payplan since March 2009 and my figures are all over the place with them, credit file says different to what justabank says and the creditors say a different amount, so dont know where we are at. Im in the process of going into a DAS so hopefully that will run a lot smoother than Payplan, as i have found with Payplan they are only interested in trying to offer you different services.
    Payment 7 of 102
  • My Partner and I have been with Payplan now for about 5 years or so. We have for some reason been passed through to there Portugese office, This creates a few problems. Firstly, can never get hold of them to speak to. Next there always seems to be a slight Language Barrier. Finally the time difference means that when we do finally get a call back it can be nearly 8pm!
We once spoke to the Citizens advice bureau for advice for debt managment and they began to tell us about payplan. When we told them that we were already with their Portugese office we were laughed at and told there was no such thing. We insisted there was and the man there found this so amusing that he wandered off to tell his colleagues there which completely wasted our time booked with him.
We have recently had letter to say that creditors are not receiving our payments. However when we speak to payplan they say they have sent it. We are seriously thinking of using another debt management company.

Appalled that you were laughed at by CAB - Payplan DO have a Portuguese office, in Lisbon I think, and the staff out there are supposed to have been trained by people from the UK office. Might be worth insisting you're dealt with by a UK based manager maybe?

Portugal time is the same as UK time. Payplan simply work late due to their heavy workload.

Unfortunately, the money sent from Payplan into a DMP is dealt with by departments within banks that most of us will never get to speak to - it often takes time before internal systems shows accurate balances that are available for Customer Service advisers. This may be the reason that banks deny recieving payments from Payplan when called - or why auto-generated letters are produced.

I can assure you that Payplan employees work as hard as they can to rectify errors made - the work that they do for their clients behind the scenes however is complex - and is not always explained with a simple 'they haven't sent the money' - or 'we haven't received your payment'.

If you do have further problems with payments or Justabank - request to speak to a manager - they'll be very happy to help.

    IIDT :)
  • There is no time difference between Lisbon and London, in case you dont know.
Greenwich timezone applies for both cities. This is pretty much common sense. When someone calls you at 7 and they dont speak with that Essex accent, you amy actually understand what they want to tell you.
They have to speak with people from Scotland. have you any idea how hard that task can be?
Also, the estimated is due to the fact they dont take into consideration the interest and charges applied throughout the DMP.
It is only fair since they have lots of depts that do a number of tasks such as writing off interest in the end of the plan.
they have settlements team and terms team as well.
If you are not being charged with interest with Lloyds because you have a DMP going on, you should be very thankful to that fact.
It is a much needed company and KEEP IN MIND YOU DO NOT PAY THEM FEES!
