Microsoft stopped selling MS Money on June 30 2009.
There are two final versions which are available free from Microsoft.
One is Money Plus Sunset Deluxe and the other is Money Plus Sunset Home and Business.Unlike earlier versions, these do not require online activation and these versions do not include any online services.
I am not sure if I am allowed to post links but if you Google
"Microsoft Money Plus Sunset Deluxe" , the 3rd Hit gives you access to both versions.
I've been using MS Money for 12 years now and couldn't live without it. I found these versions while looking for some personal finance software for my daughter. Being able to get this for free is just brilliant!

A bargain. These apear to be the Microsoft download links:
Money Plus Sunset Deluxe
Money Plus Sunset Home and Business0 -
The only downside is that they are the US versions and are not compatible with the file format that was used for the UK versions.
I am still using the last versions of the UK MS Money and it works on Windows 7. If you can pick up an old version of that on ebay then its worth it.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0 -

If these last versions of UK MS Money require online activation then they will only be installable until Microsoft turn the online activation off.
The other alternative is to print off (or send to PDF using something like CutePDFWriter) all of your account data and start afresh with this latest version. This is what I plan to do at the end of the tax year.
I did have a look at some alternative software like Moneydance (paid for) and Gnucash (free) but the interfaces on them look too alien to me after using MS Money for so long.0 -
Does anyone know if a UK version of these ever appeared? I only discovered them today and when I tried to install them I got an error to do with region compatibility?0

I've installed Money Plus Sunset, and converted my Quicken QDF files. I was told that Sunset didn't accept custom currencies and was given a list of currencies to select - British pound was there. Then I was asked to give a conversion rate to convert my Quicken account balances (in pounds, but not recognised as British). I just set an exchange rate of 1, and conversion went OK. I am now working in £p.
Really pleased to get this, as my Quicken 2000 had finally decided it wouldn't let me reregister. Still, 12 years is pretty good for a commercial software. RIP.0 -

Anyone who has the original UK version of Money 2005 should download this and keep it for when a re-installation is required. The original required a download during the installation process which is no longer available.
If you've never used Microsoft Money before, this can still be downloaded and used for free!

I can confirm that this UK version of Money 2005 works with my Money 2001 files after carrying out a file conversion.
Unfortunately, this has come too late for me. I moved my data over to the US Sunset version in the middle of 2011 by exporting as QIF files and then importing them into the Sunset version. It's a bit of a messy and time consuming way of doing it but I managed to migrate 10 years worth of data in about a day.0 -

According to Microsoft, there are a number of versions of MS Money which are not compatible with Windows 7. If you don't yet have the UK Money 2005 download or the US Sunset edition (which are compatible) it might be an idea to check the compatibility of the version you do have using the link above to pre-empt any future issues.0
