Bulldog and Debt Collection!

Hi,

I was wondering if I could ask for your help...

Over a year ago... I made the mistake of joining Bulldog Broadband with their Telephone and Internet package. To cut a long story short... they were rubbish and I cancelled the account by stopping the direct debit (in September 2005).

I then wrote a lengthy letter stating that I was not paying for the last 2 month when there was no internet service at all and I would only pay for the time when the service was running. I calculated what I owed them and enclosed a cheque for that amount. They cashed it over a year ago... and I assumed the account was closed and everything was over.

About 6 months ago... I got an email saying I still had an outstanding liability... so I call us CS... and after explaining the whole situation for the millionth time.... they finally agree with me... and say that the liability will be removed and my account closed.

Now.. i have recieved a letter from Moorecroft Debt Collection agency... threatening to take my stuff! So... I call up bulldog... and they say they have not recieved my cheque and I still owe money. At their request, I then email them copies of the letter I sent, cheque book stub, and copy of the bank statement showing that the cheque had been cashed. I recieved a reply from them via email.. saying cant read the attachments! Rubbish!! I just spoke to someone at CS... and they read out the attachment to me!!

So... basically..... I am completely lost now. I feel that I am getting nowhere... but Bulldog are still hasselling me for £115 that I dont feel I owe... and I feel like they should pay me money just for this hassel!

As I type this email... I am on hold with Bulldog CS (Call time 46 min 47 seconds)... whilst 'Victor' finds a complaint form.... and he now informs me that it takes 28 days for the complaint to be addressed... and I can't have a reference number or a copy of this form. I must 'trust' him that he is going to lodge the complaint... and I'll hear something back within 28 days.

Please... can anyone give me any advice on what I should do?

Thank you in advance.

Regards,

dB

  • Just keep trying-I've had dealings with Bulldog and Moorcroft myself and I have to say Moorcroft have been much nicer about this so far than Bulldog were.Took me 4 months to get Bulldog to credit me back what they owed me.They're quite possibly the worst company to deal with apart from MBNA-lol
