Firstly have just found out some close friends of ours are getting married in July 2011 and we were planning June, they have already booked we havn't and so have decided it would be best for us the change date as think they will be too close. Opinions??
Secondly, was thinking of changing to October maybe even November as really had my heart set on getting married 2011. What do people think about Autumn/Winter weddings?
Thanks

Doesn't matter what we think about autumn/winter weddings really.
I don't think any guest would have an issue either unless it was on xmas day or something.0 -
I don't think a month is a major issue to be honest. Especially if it's more than a month - say early June andalte July. During the spring/summer people do have a lot of weddings.
I think autumn winter weddings are lovely. Check the weather reports for annual rain fall in those months though!House saving Targets:

I was only thinking cause this will be the first wedding in our group and friends and have a feeling she may be a bit of a bridezilla didn't want either wedding to overshadow each other or not seem as special.

I wouldn't let that put you off - the most popular time for weddings is the summer and so I suppose it's inevitable that there will be some closeness of events on some occasions!
Re: Autumn - we got married on 3rd Oct 1992. It was a lovely autumnal day, quite sunny - and we went for all those lovely autumn browns and golds for our colour scheme. I would have preferred summer though. Had to go for the Oct date as I was doing my nurse training at the time and we had fixed holidays, and so to get any time off for honeymoon, we had to go for when I was on hols.0 -

Tbh, if shes all booked up and you haven't booked anywhere yet, I would wait til later in the year.
Yes, summer is wedding season but if one of my friends booked their wedding the month before mine now bearing in mind mine is all booked it would defo smack of 'stealings ones thunder' I'm afraid!
September is becoming very popular for weddings0 -
We're marrying in October...I'd have preferred summer but to have the zoo on a non-exclusive basis on a Saturday is only available outside the peak seasons. But the weather can be gorgeous in Autumn, and lousy in summer - this is the UK remember! My first wedding was in August and it threw it down. (I'm trying not to dwell on my best friends October wedding in the South East in 1987, the day after the big hurricane!)0

Right, well, i certainly wouldnt want to have my wedding so close to a friends...just my feelings though lol!
As for Autumn etc...i am getting married on 9th October this year. I actually Always wanted a Autumn wedding as it is my favourite season - i get too hot and bothered on very hot summers days and also, in this country, you cant guarantee good weather during the summer - at least with Autumn, you are aware that the weather might not be great so you certainly wont be too disappointed!
I love Autumn and Winter weddings - i kind of feel that summer weddings are a bit the "In" thing lol and i like to be a tad different!
Oh - also - prices for everything tends to be a bit lower after September = BIG bonus!Baldrick, does it have to be this way? Our valued friendship ending with me cutting you up into strips and telling the prince that you walked over a very sharp cattle grid in an extremely heavy hat?0 -
How about the 11th of nov , ie 11/11/11 because he is THE 1 (ONE) , (why did they kill the shruggy smiley?) or maybe it's just me that's into number's in a weird way.Booo!!!0
