Lost purse

Hi i need some tips on how to get through the week until payday on friday.

I lost my purse last night with the last of my money in it. £50 :(
Its not payday until friday and was so pleased that i had so much money left after a 5 week month was actually going to treat myself to a new top next week.

I have petrol and i have "some" food but i dont have bread/milk etc.
Any ideas on what i can do for lunches for work? All i have are a few tins of beans and some pasta. all the other food i have is frozen but mainly roasties and vegetables.

Absolutely gutted and not looking forward to a diet of pasta and beans all week.

Luckily i didnt have any cards in my purse so i'm trying to look on the bright side :rotfl: :o

Sorry to hear you have lost your purse.Have you been to the police station to
see if someone has handed it in?
  • Sorry to hear about your purse, but like you said it would have been much worse if your cards were in there.

Do you have any tinned tuna, if so, a tuna and pasta salad is a cheap and quick lunch. If you have any cheese, you could have beans on toast with cheese grated on top, a nice change from just beans. You could make ratatuille with the veg, or how about a pasta nicoise with some veg in a tomato based sauce, mixed with the pasta and then grated cheese on top.

Be adventurous, just throw some things into a pan and see what happens.

    Good luck,

ooh the pasta nicoise sounds nice. i have a pasta sauce in the cupboard. no tuna as i dont eat fish.

no bread tho otherwise i'd just have beans on toast everyday lol
I've just had a dodgy omelette (no milk) with paxo stuffing in it.

have called the bar i was in and the taxi firm i used but no-one has handed it in.

  • hi can't cope - I'm really sorry to hear you have lost your purse :(

I would recommend popping over to the Old Style Board and list absolutely everything have in the cupboard, fridge and freezer (including herbs, flour etc). They will come up with a list of ideas for you!
  • Have you tried looking down the back of the sofa, there is always loose change in there, maybe you will find enough for a loaf and then beans on toast will be back on the menu

  • Is the No Smoking Pot a virtual count as I noticed that you have £80 . Can you dip into this or has this already been banked/spent
  • If you have lots of frozen veg then try making some soups. Have you lentils in? These will bulk up any stew or pasta you need to make

Veg and pasta might make some nice pasta salads for work.

Maybe you could post exactly what you have in and amounts so people could share ideas.

Sorry to hear about your missfortune. I used to be a nightmare for loosing my purse etc so now don't put everything in and always have at least £10 in the house in a drawer.

If it becomes desperate some companies do cash advances on wages but I am unsure what they charge for this.
One day I might be more organised...........

  • Sorry to hear about your purse- that's awful.

I'm a great one for putting whatever I can find from the freezer into a pan of pasta and it always tasts good. If you can find enough change for an onion you can make it taste even better, but frozen veg + pasta is fab.
