Paid To Read?

I've recently got back into reading, after a long stint away, and am really enjoying it.
I just wondered if it was possible to get paid to read and review books?
Anyone ever heard of anything like this?
Would be nice to make a few pennies from my hobby, or even get some free material.

You could try Dooyoo. You get paid for writing reviews and rating other peoples. I think there is a thread here somewhere. Otherwise google Dooyoo and you will find it. I got £30 of Amazon vouchers from them recently.0

I reviewed books for an educational website - no pay but I got to keep the books. Mostly I gave them away as gifts or to schools, but some I did sell on Ebay - wasn't sure on the ethics of that, but as I got 3 a month they soon stacked up. The places that will pay or give you stuff will probably want specialist knowledge, to be worth paying you.0

I am reviewer on the Amazon Vine programme. You get to choose 4 items a month (books, DVDs, CDs and the occasional expensive electrical item) and you just have to write a review for the site. Unfortunately you cannot apply to join as Amazon pick people who already write reviews for the site. I am not sure if they are still recruiting, but if you do already post reviews on the site make sure they are really good just in case you are spotted!0

Hermia, I am a Vine Voice too, and was recruited within the last couple of years. It took me about a year to realise that it was for real!
This year I've had a steam generator iron, router, slow-cooker, mp3 playing clock, back massage cushion, hairdryer, electrolyser, slimming pills, top quality software, and loads and loads of lovely books. My sister, daughter, nephew, grand-daughter and grandson have all had Vine books that they really enjoyed to review and pass opinion on.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0
