Ok.. so I got cut off from my contract in Feb, stupid idea why I took out a mobile contract again I have no idea! but as the story goes i've tried to keep up with payments and got down to £152, so as far as I knew I had to pay that and that was the end of it.
I got a letter on the 18 jul saying the payment was due immediatley, (this was from a company called NDR northen debt recovery) rang them and explained the situation and that I would pay when I could but for now I was unable to pay anything.
Heard nothing and this morning I get a letter from buchananclark + wells which said that i either pay £162 to be reconnected and contiunue with my contract or £807.19 if I do not wish to be reconnected.
So basically my debt has gone from £152 to £807... I went to citizens advice and they said to offer to pay them £1 a month until i'm back in a job.
IS there any way at all I could just pay the £152 and be done with it for good, I know this is what a friend of mine did when he was cut off they didnt even give him the option to contiune with his contract...
I am so fed up right now...

Hi Lauren, welcome to the boards. First thing to do is to write to them and ask for a complete breakdown in charges and how they arrived at that figure - always write, don't phone, that way they cannot deny or make things up:mad: Oh and go PAYG in future;)0

thank you for welcoming to me, I've been lurking around for a while nosing at topics as I get the money saving email, I have only just joined now thought as I'm in desperate need of help. I emailed Orange this:
I got cut off from my contract in Feb 2010, the i've tried to keep up with payments which started out on the 22nd feb 2010 at £242.04 which is how much I owed when my contract was cut off.
I got the payment down to £152.04, so as far as I knew I had to pay that and that was the end of it. I lost my job a few months ago and have been on job seekers allowance, so keeping up with the payments has sometimes been difficult. I have had quite a bit of financial difficulty of late.
I got a letter on the 18 jul saying the payment was due immediatley, (this was from a company called NDR northen debt recovery) I then rang them and explained the situation and that I would pay when I could but for now I was unable to pay anything.
Heard nothing and this morning 31/08/10 I get a letter from buchananclark + wells which said that i either pay £162 to be reconnected and contiunue with my contract or £807.19 if I do not wish to be reconnected.

What would be the best course of action for me to take, should I send Orange a copy of all my letters and bank statments and such to demostrate that i've been on trouble latley. All I want to find out is if there is any way at all I can settle the remaning balance with Orange for the £152.04 and then stop my contract all together?
to see what sort of response I get, and if needs be I will mail all the information needed to them to see if there is anything I can do about this problem. I shouldn't have got another contract, and they only reffered the debt to an agency whilst I was away for a week and unable to respond... Oh dear..
thanks for you're help!0
