Bridesmaid dress too tight!

I am a bridesmaid in 3 weeks and when we picked up the bridesmaid dresses a few months ago it was too tight. Now I had lost a stone last year, I'm a comfortable size 10 but she ordered the dress in a 12 as they are always small made and she said with my measurements it would fit.
I've tried it on several times and is far too tight round the ribs - so even if I lost a couple more pounds I don't think it would make a difference. I'm so annoyed as I haven't put on any weight so it really should fit.

I was supposed to be getting a fitting last week but the dressmaker cancelled and I can't get another one until 4 days before the wedding as I don't live in the same country. The dressmaker assures me that will be enough time but I keep reading that it's hard to take dresses out and I'm so worried it won't fit. Has anybody else had this problem? Would Spanx help??

    Hi fluffykins,
Can I ask - will the dress zip up? (I'm assuming it's a zip)? How many inches too tight do you reckon it is?
  • Hi Noctu, yeah it zips up no problem, it only really feels tight at my ribcage. I'm clueless when it comes to inches! I reckon if they could take it out 1 inch, I'd be more comfortable.

One of my BMs dresses was too tight and they managed to take it out at least 1/2" either side. I wouldn't worry as I am sure its doable

If it can't be taken out then a lace up back can be but it, I've had to do that for one of my bridesmaid who's 11, her boobs have grown from nowhere :o
