Paying Off Credit Cards - Charges/Fees?

Hi there
Just a quick question, I have done a search through the forum but couldn't find an answer so I wondered if anyone could help!
I'm currently in the process of paying off my debts and am paying off about one credit card a week. I have been doing this through the Post Office using the giro slips that come with my statements but have been being charged a fee of £2.50 each time I pay something off. I find it difficult to get to my bank due to my working hours and so am not able to pay my money into the bank and then pay my debts online/telephone. There is however a branch of a different bank near to my work that I could get to in my lunch break. Does anyone know if as a non-Barclays customer I can pay giros at their branch and if so will there be a fee??
