Which Pension...

Which Pension provider...

OK I know it is probably the million dollar question and get asked all the time but which one?

I will probably be getting a stake holder pension.

Are there any tables of past performance?

I have read on the this forum that some funds are poor from Scottish Widows plc and some are good. – How do I find out.???

    it has been recently.

Yep, cheap and cheerful and good for low contributions where fund selection is not a priority for you. If you have less than 20 years until retirement, these are usually cheaper than personal pensions.

The databases on pension funds are not as readily available as they are for unit trust/OEIC funds. They are coming but for the time being they are mostly only available for those that want to pay for them. You are looking at around £150-£200pm with a 12 month contract minimum in most cases.

Most of the best funds historically are not in the stakeholder range although there are exceptions in certain sectors.

Remember that past performance is no guide to future returns and there is no guarantee that the fund manager that did well in the past will do so in the future.
