I worked for the local hospital for 6 months until they noticed that they were 10 million in the red and said goodbye.I paid into the pension.As it was for such a short time,is it possible to get the contributions back?
The pension from that would be very small,and my heart failure makes it pretty unlikely that I`ll be around to collect it in 13 years.

Not Ipswich,but Bury.I was told that I have heart failure when I was in rehab in 2002 - at St Georges,Tooting.It`s getting worse,but I hope I`ve got more than 6 months left.Just been turned down for DLA as I can walk quite a distance on the flat.Not hills though.Going upstairs for a pee is left as long as possible.
They showed me the X-ray of my heart.It was huge.My resting pulse was 122,and BP 192/135.Much better on the various tablets,but so tired.

IIRC you can usually get your contributions back from an occupational scheme if you've worked for less than two years - however they will have to buy you back into the state second pension, so there might not be much left over.

This doesn't apply to group personal pensions.

Perhaps ts-aly was slightly over the 2 year limit?If so, the pension will be deferred until retirement, and increased every year to cover inflation.It won't be lost.
