SAR fees

I am about to post a SAR to Santander for a default notice I know nothing about. I have seen two standard letters for this quoting different amounts as the statutory fee. Is it £1 or £10 and what is a reasonable time to expect a reply 14 days or 40 days. I'm nearly confused!!

£10 and 40 days.I enclose the statutory maximum fee of £10.00 to access ALL data held by you about myself. You should be fully aware of your statutory obligations under the Data Protection Act and that any failure to comply with this request will involve a complaint to the ICO as well as potential legal action.
You have 40 days in which to comply with this request and note that this request has been sent Recorded Delivery so I can ensure compliance on these issues comply within the legislative time frames.

There are two ways of constructing a software design: One way is to make it so simple that there are obviously no deficiencies, and the other way is to make it so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies0 -
SAR or Subject Access Request will cost £10.00. Ask for this if you need details of transactions and other activity on your account. CCA or Consumer Credit Agreement, will cost £1.00 and is the piece of paper that you signed when you agreed to buy the product (loan/cc/overdraft etc.) You normally request this if you don't agree that you are the debtor or if you think that the agreement may be unenforceable."I may be many things but not being indiscreet isn't one of them"0
