Hey All.
This query is for a friend.
My friend had an account with SinglePoint (Mobile Phone Contract) around two years. He had come to the end of his 12 month contract and cancelled with them over the telephone. They advised him that his account was all closed down and that waas that.
He cancelled his direct debit to them shortly after and never heard anything from them for about a two months.
He then get a letter from a DCA asking for final payment on the account. He rang them and payed what was owed, even though he never knew that he owed anything.
Recently he checked his credit file and it shows that Single Point have defaulted him on that account.
Is there any course of action he can take to remove the default in reference to the above circumstances?
Thanks

I think if he contacts the credit reference companies and advises them of the situation they may alter his file to reflect the circumstances.0
