Can't log into MSN Messenger

Hey all

I am having problems logging into MSN messenger. I've not used it for awhile (month maybe) but tried to log in yesterday and today to both my accounts and I keep getting the same error message for both accounts. I've tried uninstalling it but it couldn't do that either.

The error message says:

'We cannot sign you into .... because the service is temporarily unavailable.'

If I click on 'get more information' it opens a Windows search webpage that says 'We did not find any results for 8001011a.'

Any suggestions?

you couldn't uninstall in add/remove progs in the control panel?

No, it attempted it said it had failed to uninstall.

I think this is an error I have had a couple of times. If it is this worked for me, log off router, turn off router, (unplug) count to 10, reconnect wait until all lights on router stop flashing then log on to Messenger.
