Apparently its the greens you give your chickens that make the eggs yellow - corn makes the flesh yellow. My girls have lots of greens but not a lot of corn as its like sweeties to them then they won't eat their real food - well they are like children really:)Clearing the junk to travel light

Sorry to butt in, but what greens are you giving them? Ours just don't seem to like veg scraps. :cool:DTD...Dreading The Detox.0 -

I brought some fresh free range farm eggs from the local farm near to where we were staying on holiday and my son -in-law couldn't get enough of them My DD said he normally isn't bothered about what he eats but these eggs were beauties and had a deep dark yellow yolk. I brought half a dozen home with me for breakfasts this week and they certainly won't be going into any cakes but will be used up with 'soldiers '
:):)There is a great saying that you gets what you pays for and this is especially true when it comes to meat and poultry.I would rather pay a bit more for quality and have less meat to eat than eat the insipid supermarket stuff

Hi Jackie
As this is about marks and spencers chickens, i have moved it to the shopping and groceries board. I always thought they were fre range - now I am totally confused!
Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere(please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. If you have any questions about this policy please email abuse@moneysavingexpert.com.

Well, I have been and seen and done. They are not marked Free Range anywhere on them. Unfortunately, there wasn't any free range chicken in the shop I was in, to compare the labelling.
