3 month free dvd trial loophole

Please move this if it is in the wrong forum.
I had a free trial from lovefilm ages ago and yesterday they sent me an e mail offering me 3 months for the price of 1.
i thought that was a good offer and I'd run out of free ones so I decided to go for it and signed up.
HOWEVER!!! i just got my sign up email from them to say the £12.99 won't be taken out till the 23rd December and if I choose to cancel before then I won't pay anything at all!
So as I see it I can get 3 months free from this as long as I cancel mid December and send the dvd's back.
So if you get the offer, I suggest you take them up on it....

thanks for that, i had the offer and was about to delete, but if i can have it free till Dec WELL you have to dont you!

i confirm the email says i dont have to pay till the end of 3 months!

Look at their Terms & Conditions as it states this:

Existing subscribers, or those who have previously enjoyed a free trial period with any member of the LOVEFiLM group of companies (including ScreenSelect), or any website powered by LOVEFiLM or Video Island are not eligible and will be billed normally for use of the service. Please contact customer services for a full list of LOVEFiLM-powered sites.

It's not a free trial though, it is a 3 month for the price of 1 offer for previous subscribers.It just so happens you don't have to pay till the end of the three months, so you can cancel before that and pay nothing....

thanks, just tried it and put a £1 limit on my credit card transaction just incase lovefilm try and charge me!
i got this in the e-mail:

First charge: GBP 14.99 this covers the first 3 months of your subscription.

Sorry, only just discovered this thread following a search on google having just started another thread here. I got the email, wrote to them as it wouldn't let me partake of the offer and got the following response. Surely this must be a trading standards query?

As they're offering it to everyone but it's not available to everyone....

Very dumb response, surely they could get a software programme that distinguishes existing and lapsed customers.

JUST PHONED THEM UP TO CLEAR IT UP.they said they need to take £14.99 now then the next billing date is 23 dec 2006, so i can cancel anytime before then , but i HAD TO PAY the £14.99 now and they would'nt let me cancel without paying first.
oh well, 3 months for £14.99 aint bad (unlimited 3 discs at once!)

I have never used Lovefilm before but using the link on the first post have managed to get the three months for the price of one offer, looks like its meant to be for returning customers but anyone can get it. I have received an email saying my first 14.99 will be taken on 24 Dec. I have been looking for an offer and this seems to be one of the best going - already used tescos and blockbusters.

I haven't heard anything else from them jammiev, but if that it is the case then it may well not be the loophole I first thought, I'd still be quite happy with £12.99 for 3 months though....
