My old cheapo Dell Inspiron is becoming a real pain now so it's time to donate it to my daughter and for me to get a new one.
Working on a budget of around £500, can anyone suggest something?
I need a decent size hard drive and would prefer 4GB memory. It also has to have HDMI. I want something reasonably powerful.
I dont want Acer due to being put off with netbook problems and I dont think I want another Dell. Was considering Toshiba?
Son has a Sony Vaio which has a great screen but is very noisy, runs very hot and isn't always all that responsive so I've been put off Sony a bit.
Would appreciate some starting suggestions please.

Looking at the Toshiba range in the up to £500 bracket I couldn't find one with an HDMI output. Therefore, I'd recommend:
Samsung R530 - £479-99
i3 processor (2.13 Ghz)
3Gb RAM
320 GB hard disk
Integrated webcam
Windows 7 Home Premium
OR
this Hewlett Packard:
HP G62-105SA - £439-98
Same spec as above
Both have an HDMI output and can be seen on the EBuyer site.
Really, it's a case of you pays your money and you take your choice.0 -
