Lots of old-fashioned cookbooks have recipes for fruit 'liqueurs' at the back. Jane Grigson's Fruit Book (used to be available in Penguin, but libraries ought to be able to get it) has a big section on adding fruit to booze. It's just fruit in, say, preserving type bottle, add sugar, add vodka. Seal, shake occasionally, keep cool, drink at Xmas. Last year I made Damson vodka and it's sensational so i'm about to do this years. I did that like sloe gin for which recipes abound. It's a lovely way to make something really special.
Good luck !0 -

i filled an empty dry bottle 1/2-2/3rds full with blackberries, and covered with vodka, store for up to 4 months and shake every week. once its filtered a sugar syrup can then be added to make it into a liquor0
