Probably a silly question

If a pension is paid out quarterly, is it paid in arrears like a salary or in advance like an ( or some) annuity?

    I would have thought in arrears but you would really need to clarify this with your pension provider to be sure.

  • (State) Pension paid weekly is in advance; if paid four- or thirteen-weekly, then it’s in arrears.

    annuities can be paid in advance or arrears. You get to choose and the annuity rate reflects the choice.
