Oil - The oil is ridiculously high but have had a service engineer out, downgraded the boiler but it still costs a fortune. I don't have the heating on much, it just feels like I'm paying a fortune to be cold!
Other Travel - Is my son and partners occasional bus fares, we live in a village.
Work expenses - Is my lunch at work.
Child related expesnes - Is school meals.

sorry but your work lunches will need to come out of your housekeeping

I've started making sandwiches or pasta rather than spending £3 a day

how much will your 19 year old be paying in, your OR Will expect this and even if you dont put it down they might just put a figure in themself

  • Don't have any heating on April, May, June, July and August. The other 7 months it actually costs £275 a month then!!! £160 per month is the average for the year.
Wish I could move but I don't pay rent so it equals itself out!

  • Ok thanks for that will take the work expenses out.

My 19 year old has just started working, doesn't get a high wage and spends most of it paying petrol to work, but after a few years of training it will be a high paid job. So at the moment, there's no contribution.

    What should that be?

can he not even give £40 a month towards food
OR could say you wouldn't take a lodger who works in free and not expect them to pay
    very harsh i know.
My OR was very harsh about simple things so .....

  • I know they will be, the new job just started and we haven't got round to board yet. £40 seems fair enough.
