Navman Pin570 SATNAV / PDA £129.99

I missed the Garmin i3 for £99.

This seems like a good buy - was on a previous grabbit for £149.99 refurbished direct from Navman.

This is from Amazon for 129.99 - when the previous grabbit was posted Amazon were selling for £249.99 as I was tempted for the refurbished.

The only thing putting me off was the 5 digit postcode recognition - but I now believe that you put in the first bit of the post code and select the street and house number so it is still door to dorr navigation.

It is available from other places for £150ish but lots of places still selling for £200+

Any one got any experience of this model or comments?

Cheers

Yes, I saw something on some reviews that suggested that Tomtom could be added (but I guess this would only be necessary if the NavMan software is not up to much).

Do you know if this means the TomTom Navigaigator software - priced around £137 - the TomTom site doesnt list this as compatible?

I have the Navamn smartst3 and thats exactly how it works, right to the door each time. Even 5 digit and road is good enough 99% of the time and I travel the country.

This seems a better buy to me than the Navman ICN330at 99.99 in the other thread because I believe you cant upload the speed camera database and this is a pocket PC, MP3 player and digital phot display.

Anyone actually use this or the ICN330 and can confirm the speed camera incompatibility.

    Thanks

I have the PiN 570 ... and think it is great. Saying that I have never used any other satnav system:o

The post code finder thing is very easy to use. Plus, I like the fact that you don't have to type everything out and then find you have made a mistake somewhere ... it highlights errors as soon as they are made when inputting address details.

We don't have the speed camera software on our one, but we have set it to warn us when we go over a certain speed which is very handy.

Edit: forgot to add. You have to go through a set number of screens everytime you start the GPS. License agreement and the "how to" pages. Can be a pain in the begining if you are in a rush, but before long you get used to it and its not a major prob.
I can say whatever I like here ... 'cos no one can see me .. ner ner ner ner ner !!!....

How do you know I ain't sitting here butt naked?!?!

I thunk I've made you think for a minute!

You should be able to switch this off - I've got an ICN 530 and have managed to turn these off - have a look in the settings or call Navman.
