Post-surgery bras

Does anyone have experience/advice on good supportive bras suitable for use after breast surgery? I'm looking for a front fastening, soft but suportive bra that can be worn 24 hrs a day until healing is done.
Some of the brands are really expensive, and yet other ladies (on another site) are saying they have got cheap T-shirt bras at the supermarket. It seems so contradictory to me. I can't bear the idea of lace or anything too tight against the scars, or digging in under my arm.

Hi Beenie
I bought a couple from M & S for £8.00 each. However, I ended up wearing my usual bras as they had less material in them and the M & S ones are so full that they rubbed where the boob meets the underarm.
I think it depends on your surgery - the post surgery bras have a pocket for an insert, but as I only had a lumpectomy I found my usual bras were comfy.
Asda also do post-surgery bras. I think a cheap cotton bra without lace would be more than okay if you don't need a pocket.
If you want any advice, or just need someone to talk to, feel free to pm me! Good luck, Kim.0 -
When I had a breast reduction I just bought some supermarket branded sports bras and one prettier wireless bra from M&S."You've been reading SOS when it's just your clock reading 5:05 "0

One of my friends had a breast op done privately. She was advised to get a couple of sports bras, and to keep them on 24/7 for at least a fortnight. She was also given arnica to take daily from a fortnight before the surgery.0
