  • I love the heart theme as well!!

So now I am thinking retro horses doofers.......then soup with heart shaped croutons.......then beef in red wine stew with heart shaped puff pastry.......then heart shaped pavlova!

I am getting quite excited now, and will have to make sure I make enough for me to eat when I am sitting in the kitchen!! :T

Thanks for all the great ideas folks, much appreciated

oh - and the setting hun? are you going to put a chianti bottle on the table with a candle dripping wax? and a babycham bottle at mums place with a lovely red ribbon and a rose tied to the glass stem (considered very romantic then).
I am really getting into this now - the cd should be of 1970s romantic sounds awwwwwwwww. your mum will love it and dad will prob fall about laughing!
you are such a sweetie doing this for them - I got married in 1977 and my fave song was the stranglers (peaches) and food was - er - scampi and chips or chicken and chips in a basket! or one of those newfangled steakhouses!

Summer pudding? Seasonal, looks impressive, is easy, and has to be made in advance, so saves your energy on the day. :)

Edit: Sorry csarina, I see you already suggested this one :o (but I still think it's a good idea).
