I've done one and got paid for it, but had to back out of one today because they wanted me to log my report before midnight tonight. Seeing as I would have only done the assignment at 8pm, thought I didn't have enough time.

There are others that give you 12 hours to complete it, but if I do it at 8pm, I can only complete my report when I get to work or my mums at 8am the next day. Is this too late?

I think that should be ok. I have heard some people say that they have been penalised for sendnign a late report but other agencies just give you a time limit for a guide lin. I would ring the agency explain your situation and see what they say/.

I would always ring them and see how flexible they can be - it often depends how despertae they are eg - got a call at 4.30pm on monday to see if i could do an assignment that day. When I said that the business houras for that day were over they said - could I do it tomorrow if I caould key in the results that day. The reporting only takes about 10 min, give them a call and clarify it with them
