Tesco lower price: value eggs, bread + bananas

Don't know if there's a price war going on, but this week my Tesco had 15 value eggs £1.33, value wholemeal loaf 30p, loose bananas 67p/kg - all less than they've been for a while.

hth someone.

Must be a reaction to the cheap milk and bread that Morrisons were doing. All good for the consumer though, thanks for letting me know about Mr T.

Loose banana's are 67p/kg because ASDA & Sainsbury's lowered theirs to 67/kg. Sainsbury's is the better deal though as theirs are all fairtrade.

The Value bread at Tesco is a bit squishy, it was 50p before, so not as good a bargain as the Morrisons bread which was down to 30p from 69p, I think it was. I tend to go for 'better' bread which has been reduced because it's date has gone, it's much nicer to taste, and lasts fine in the fridge for a few days, or you can even freeze it for later on. I got two loaves from Morrisons today, both reduced to 25p and it's decent bread. :D
  • Ive been buying the Tesco 'Market Value' bananas, 65p for about 10 bananas, very good value
  • Some if not all of the Market Value bananas are the previous day's loose bananas. I was in Tesco one evening and a very nice young man was just bagging them up. He let me pick which bananas I wanted!
