Tesco not accepting home-printed vouchers

This evening my two home-printed discount vouchers (one for a free can of Vodka & coke and the other for 50p off Mr Sheen) were refused at the Tesco checkout. Operative said that it's Tesco policy to never accept home-printed vouchers. This is the first time this has happened to me and TBH I was too tired to argue and just told them to keep the stuff.
Is this a new global policy, or was I just unlucky with my operative?

mine were fine, macca. so i am sorry to ear that you ave ad sush problems.

perhaps they mean ones from magazines and newspapers, they cant be from e-mags and e-newspapers that need printing.0 -
Shouldn't have been a problem.
I remember handing over a printed b&w voucher and immediately told they did not accept photocopied vouchers... after a short discussion was fine and accepted.0 -
Used 2 of the same vouchers just the other day at Tesco no problem despite they actually looked like photo copy's (toner on laser printer about empty) very faint. The lad on the till said they had problems with other vouchers printed in colour, scanner could not read them.
Try again go to customer service area with voucher and can's.0 -
Thanks for your feedbacks. Seems I was just unlucky then. I'll try them again with a very junior-looking checkout op!:)0

I think its luck of the draw with which Tesco you use, most round by me wont take home printed vouchers (I think they must have all got together and agreed this), and haven't for some years. I don't tend to have time to wait at customer service to argue the point.0
