Cheap wedding rings? Anyone tried Tesco?

Hi all, I am looking to find a nice wedding ring for myself at an affordable price. I have to have white gold to match the engagement ring apparently (I had planned to do money-saving by getting silver but everyone reckons that will ruin my engagement ring?). I particularly like Celtic designs but am really struggling to find anything affordable so I am now looking at all sorts, including just plain bands. I was hoping to go for second-hand, as I did with the engagement ring, to save money, but it seems people sell their unwanted wedding rings for scrap rather than advertising them. I have seen very cheap rings on Tesco Direct, and wondered if anyone has had one of these and if so is it any good? Alternatively, does anyone have any suggestions for other places I could try?

mine is an 18 carat plain white gold band, cost £100 made bespoke from a jewellers with my engagement ring so worth talking to some independent jewellers for quotes! They also have loads of catalogues behind the counters which have loads of different types, if you give them your budget they can look and see what fits
you do need to stick with the same metal as your engagement ring though, as gold is a soft metal and harder metals will rub it away over time, unless you don't intend to wear them no the same finger xx0 -
My 18ct white gold ring is only £280 and is a wishbone custom design made specially to fit my engagement ring. I am taking my engagement ring back into the shop tomorrow for them to finish it
I would definitely recommend going into independent jewellers. The place we got my engagement ring from were quoting about £900 to have a wedding band made to fit.:j Debt Free 27.07.2011!! :j0 -
Chapelle is a good place to try, mine is 9ct diamond and topaz and cost less than £100. I didn't go for a wedding ring though, so might be something to look at wherever you end up0

I havent bought mine yet, but i plan to get a tesco cheap £40 band.
I wouldnt go for the cheapest as it looks like a hollowed out band to save on gold, and in my experience these are painful as you get pressure points on the two edges against your finger, rather than a flat band inside sitting comfortably against your finger.
Make sure you go for the same metal as your engagement ring. Silver or a harder gold than your engagement ring (for example if yours is 18ct, then 9ct is harder) then it will wear your engagement ring as it rubs against it during normal wear.

Can't comment on tesco, mine is from Ernest Jones, it was £99 for a 9ct white gold band and I'm happy with it.
Do you have tesco vouchers at all? xBump due 22nd September0 -
If you do this ring... http://www.goldsmiths.co.uk/product/brides-9ct-gold-5mm-court-wedding-ring-08140050
Would cost you £62.50 in tesco vouchers which is a great price for a decent quality ring (and they do things like free polishing etc) although the actual cash price is quite inflated IMO.Bump due 22nd September0 -
if you want cheap and look lovely try argos!:A VK :A0

Ours have come from H Samuels. Didn't want to spend too much but I also didn't want something thick and chunky!0

qvc do plenty of rings. I've not seen their wedding bands but I know their customer service is really really good ie you return the ring up to 30 days.. if not to your liking.0
