changing utility provider

Is it possible to change energy providers after going bankrupt? Money is owed to the current supplier and I have heard that you can only have pre-pay meters when declared bankrupt. Is this correct? It seems silly as they cost a lot more and if you have already cut down your consumption to the absolute limit (apart from turning everything off!) it isn't going to help at all.:(

It depends on the supplier and a PAYG meter is not a given. I changed to Ebico when BR (no meter and left a debt with EON) and changed again to OVO with a small debt on Ebico - none refused me, refused due to the left debts and no PAYG meters.

All you can do is try it and see.

Besides, can the debt not go into the BR pot anyway??
