Obtaining Credit File

I wonder if there is something like right time to ask CRAs for one's credit files?
For instance is it OK to ask for credit files today bearing in mind it is the last day of the month or is it better to wait a week from now hoping for the data to be updated? Or it makes no difference as lenders do send updates to CRAs on willy-nilly basis?
I have already used free trials so would prefer to spend £4 wisely (am not bother with Call Credit).

    Hi,

I'm not that sure it really matters when you ask for a copy of your file as most credit reference agencies tend to update their files every 4-6 weeks as far as I know.
If you've nothing decent to say, perhaps you shouldn't say anything.

The amount of times I hear people say they're not bothered with Call Credit but it's Call Credit that have got more on me, in a more legible format, than either of the other two.

Personally I'm gonna spend £6 to really know what's out there with my name on it over £4 for a ruddy good guess every time.
I refuse to be afraid of the big bad wolf, spiders, or debt collection agencies; one of them's not real and the other two are powerless without my fear.
(Ok, one of them is powerless, spiders can be nasty.)

As of the last count I have cleared
    [STRIKE]23.16%[/STRIKE] 22.49% of my debt. :(

You are quite right - I was just alluded by the amount of times it has been said on here. No need to save £2 when I fight for £20k
